Herschede Clock Repaired
Antique Herschede Clock Repaired
The Herschede Hall Clock Company was founded in 1877 (incorporated on December 29th, 1902) by Franklin Herschede in Cincinnati, Ohio. Its industry was clocks and its headquarters was in Starkville, Mississippi. It merged with the Howard Manufacturing Company and Briarwood Lamps, Inc.
We just finished the rebuild and cleaning on this 7 tube double chime Herschede Clock made between 1915 and 1920. The install went better than ever. It’s running just right.
The mechanism was recently serviced but not correctly. The cables were too short, both strike actuator linkages were poorly replaced. It required 8 new bushings in addition to the usual service requirements.

Clock removed from case for repair:
The mechanism timed out well but needed lots of fine tuning, but like all Herschede clocks they are amazingly well made!
